Sales and marketing is a truly exciting career path. It’s fast paced, dynamic and full of challenges and variety. Before learning more about how to do successful sales and selling, it's important first to get a sense of what sales and marketing is.

Sales is cultivating potential buyers (or leads) in a market; communicating the features, advantages and benefits of a product or service to the lead – then closing the sale.

Marketing involves a wide range of activities in making sure that you're continuing to meet the needs of your customers and getting value in return.

What you'll learn and study on the course

You'll learn how to prepare and deliver sales presentations, handle objections, negotiate with customers, understand buyer decision making processes and their impact on the sales cycle, influences on buyer behaviour and the laws and ethics of selling.

What you can do after with it

This course can potentially lead to a job in a sales and marketing role.  For example, you could work in the following roles: sales representative, sales consultant, sales territory manager and business development manager.

You'll also develop all the skills that are necessary in sales and marketing, including communication skills, confidence, resilience and  relationship building.

Unit One: Understanding laws and ethics of selling (Y/502/7482)

On completion of this unit you will:

Unit Two: Preparing and delivering a sales presentation (R/502/7500)

On completion of this unit you will:

  • Be able to prepare a sales presentation

Unit Three: Handling objections, negotiating and closing sales (Y/502/7501)

On completion of this unit you will:

  • Be able to prepare to handle objections, negotiate and close the sale
  • Be able to handle objections
  • Be able to negotiate with the customer
  • Be able to close the sale

Unit Four: Understanding influences on buyer behaviour (D/502/7502)

On completion of this unit you will:

  • Understand buyer decision making processes and their impact on the sales cycle
  • Understand how to respond to the buyer at each stage of the decision making process

ISMM Level 3 Certificate in Sales and Marketing (RQF)

On successful completion of our ISMM Level 3 Certificate in Sales and Marketing (RQF) course you will receive a qualification listed on the RQF at level 3 (Qualification Reference Number: (600/0241/4). This course has also been assigned 17 credits

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.
